i just like to say IF I HAD A GUN IT WOULD BE DECEASED.im now the proud owner of one koi carp instead of four.i came in from the kitchen from making some lunch,and theres old lanky bird eating my fish.so after nearly smashing my living room window with the palm of my hand,i go to the garden to find three koi missing.gutted.
but hey.,i shoulda put my netting over.
oh and iv just realised im in the wrong forum whoops,i was wound up though so cut me some slack.

Sorry about your fish.
It was a worry to me as well when we built our pond but we got some netting for it. Its so ugly to look at but it does the job i suppose.

buy a fake cat as decoy

i have a live cat but the crafty sod drink the pond water and ever since then have bought 2 plastic dish one on top and bottam of my pond wall he have been start using the dish as drinkin water so i would suggest cover the pond with the net as u said and some drinkin water dish............ as dont know where abt your pond as cat tend sit there and watch and drink the water out of the dish
