Now, I KNOW I was silly...I accepted whatever guppy the lfs guy put in the bag, and didn't check them until I got home. Please don't tell me off. I KNOW I shouldn't have, and I won't do it again. Promise!

The 4 guppies were introduced to my tank today. One has a ragged tail. Now, I've read that this is a sign of poor aquarium environment. The others are fine (as far as I can tell). My water parameters etc are good (no ammonium or nitrite, and very low nitrate...and yes, I have cycled! Temperature is a constant 25-26C and pH is around 7.5). Is it likely that the guppy's will spontaneously get better, or should I be doing something to encourage it? -_-

It's not your fault we won't tell you off, no worries there, good that your tank is up to scratch, how bad is the tail , does if have any red edging to it.

It should clear if you have good water quality, if you have no scaless fish in the tank, maybe add some salt, or melafix if you do have scaless fish.Good luck.

All I have is the 3 mollies and 4 guppies...in a 125 litre tank

Can I use table salt?! Or when you say salt, do you mean a special 'fish salt'? And about how much would you add? Sorry to be a pain!

Table salt will be fine one tablespoon to 5gal, good luck.

Just thought... - Is that ''all at once''? (and I'm presuming you meant imperial gallons, not US?) I'm really paranoid of doing the wrong thing!! :fun:
