But would be interesting to know why they do it.
Some say a rogue whale, fishing to near shore, sonar upsetting them, pathogens.

Isn't it unusual though for so many whales and dolphins to beach at the same time, wonder if its a chase for food or if as with coral reefs global warming could be having some kind of effect.
Can't remember having seen that many before!!

Sonar equipment can uspet them leading them to beach.

I think the wales and dolphins follow the warm contential drift of water and somehow global warming might have changed the cource of the warm water. Orwierdd luna movements affecting the tides

There are shark attack rumours (as in, a shark chased them and they panicked and beached) but it's probably just rumours. The Australian public is really hyped up about sharks at the moment, as there have been three shark attacks in three weeks at our de-facto capital, Sydney's most popular swim/surf beaches. A teenage surfer got attacked on the same day the beaching occurred, he's still in hospital, and two weeks ago there were two attacks in two days.

Apparently they saved about 50 of them, but about 100 have died. It's really awful.

It's very strange i personally think no one will ever solve these mystery's.....I remember a while back think 2year's ago around the south east and west multiple dolphin's washed up on shore at different interval's and again before this time......A fair few number of time's it's happened around the world in a number of different place's. Which leave's me to beleive this is some cycle of marine life were just unsure of. Take for instant elephant's, they know when there going to die and seem to head to a graveyard type area, Even human's most human's if dying of old age seem to know when it's there time to pass, i know only to well of this from my own exsperience's with both my grandmother's.
Which lead's me to think maybe it's something along these line's, again like someone said, "sonar" who know's if the military were not in the area at the time with there submarine's doing some kind of exercise, obviously it's classified and on a "need to know basis"
