2003-2009

My Litte Girl Lizzie passed away recetly this weeks,
After an inspection of her it was of natural causes.
She gave us much joy in life, as well as mothering hundreds of children.

She shall be with us always.
Rest in Peace Lizzie

Basking in the sunlight
as the day goes by
the sun rays dancing off her back
but now you're in the sky
No longer insects cower
as you stalk them day or night
Remembering your five a day
Devouring all in sight.
But now your prowling all day long
with the big locust beyond the stars
Remember all the happy times
you brought us all of ours
So good bye my dear lizzie
You we shall never forget
I only wish you would of known,
if your sick, please call the vet

thanks :)
I'm coping better than i was.
Im currently kitting out the viv for a mediterranean Tortoise (tustudo Hermanni)
As the viv was my dragon breeding viv so its considerably large.

Very british thing to do though!
When your pet dies get one that'll out live you!

very sorry for your loss mate.

id be careful with the tort in the viv jus watch the humidity. in saying that hermans are bulletproof torts supposedly in uk people let them live outside all year round and hibernate themselves

Thanks for your thoughts,
as for your concern, 've ben keeping testudo Hermanni, horsfieldii and graeca for 3 years at work :)
I've already converted the viv for the requirements. I'm just running preliminary tests this week making sure its perfect :)

yeah really keep an eye on the humidity xenon viv's aren't very good for torts really they need a outdoor enclosure or a tort table a wouldn't advise a viv as they can get very poorly sorry

but if you have converted it sufficiantly it should be fine you can't really have a roof on it

i already have an out door area sorted :),
as for ventilation,
i have approximately 12 ventilation shafts on the viv at the moment, double of the dragon,
so humidity shouldnt be a problem.
if my tests come back that the humidity is too high, i'll replace the roof with mesh.

Thanks for your concern :)

i like to know that animals are kept well and people know what they are dealing with and have done all there homework because i know alot of people dont as we rescue turtles from all over the place we now have 8 :good: :good:

i remember you saying :),
the Rspca centres are chocd full of turtles, especially red ear sliders.

Its a real shame, due to irresponsible owners red ear slider terrapins are now breeding in the country

i spose thats quite cool!!!
If they breed, thats awesome! BUT, breeding in question means that viable young can hatch in the english temperatures
