My regal tang died this afternoon

I don't know what happened. She came out to feed this morning and looked great. I went out for a few hours and when I got back an gave the fish their dinner she didn't come out, so I looked around the tank to see if she was hiding and I found her stuck to the powerhead intake

Sorry to hear it m8, just wondering though cos ive herd if certain tangs dont get enough amino acids into their diets, along with other foods they can all of a sudden die with no indication.. but that was more to do with power blues however regals arent the hardiest of the tang family so could of happend.

Other thing it could be an internal infection.

Tangs are notorious for falling ill when least expected and often for no reason at all...

I had a Juvenile Tang in my first 75g and had the same thing happen to me...

She looked fine for 3 days and then on the 4th day i found her stuck on the power head inlet dead!...

I froze the body and took it back to my LFS with a sample of my water for a full refund...

The Guy at the LFS said that most of the juvenile tangs end up dead within the first week so don't feel too bad....

Maybe think about a refund before you stick her in the ground... It may ease the pain a little....

Then in that case i will guarantee you won't be getting a refund...

I will not be getting another regal tang anytime soon.

I think when I've got over losing Dory I will look at possibly getting a small school of chromis
