Quiky Question

It seems to be that everyone says bubbles in the tank are bad and will damage corals etc. I'm no diver but I know there are divers on here and I think they should be able to confirm that on a reef there are lots of bubbles floating around?

Some corals and sponges can be damaged if they get air trapped in them (sponges especially) but I dont think a few bubbles floating around the tank are going to do any major damage.

very fine air bubbles can cause problems to fish and corals but normal size air bubbles are not usually a problem. If the air bubbles are blowing against a coral it will cause problems.
Air bubbles will encourage salt creep and you will have to clean more salt up from around the top of the tank.

Bubbles are unsightly for the display tank. They are NOT dangerous to fish or corals, but CAN be dangerous to sponges, urchins, sea apples, and some sea slugs.
