i have an old airpump with 2 outlets but its too noisy, can anyone recommend a suitable QUIET pump suitable for a 500 litre aquarium?

I've always liked the TetraTec ones. Quiet in my experience and the design was always quite stylish i thought. Also, if you don't mind putting an old mouse mat underneath it then it stops the vibration noise you might hear a little. But its running sound is quiet.

The tetra tec pumps are known to be quiet. I currently use one for my 50L and it is silent, as for 500 L im not sure but here they are.

the larger you go with tetratec the noisier they are im afraid mine lives in a cardboardbox filled with airbags to keep it quiet

Yes, you have got a point there Walkers. Mine lives in the tank cuboard ontop of a mouse mat and i can't hear it. Without the mat though i can hear the vibrations. Still a good pump though.
