I have a 360L planted aquarium. I have cycled doing the fishless cycle, so technically i can add say 70% stocking level. I am also adding plants now that i am cycled.

So
1) can i add 50 cardinals and 10 corys in my first batch? Or just 50 cardinals?
2) If i add the corys and have just planted a grass, are they likely to pull it up or damage the initial days of growth?

Thanks!

i cant help you totally, but with the cories i have something to think about. i had some 'clumps' of grass in mine, and they liked to get at the roots, im assuming lots of nice food bits collected under them. i dont think they were the fish that uncovered the roots, but they did like to get amongst them. saying that, the vast majority of the time they just sift through the open sand in my tank, so i think leaving some open ground would be good, to begin with at least.

in the planted section there is a thread called something like 'why we shouldnt fishless cycle planted aquaria' or something of the like. I know you say you've already been cycling, but it maybe of use to you.

Apparently cardinals don't do too well in a brand new tank. Maby somebody can clarify this?

Yeh i have read all about the arguments for and against fishless cycling a planted tank haha. But i chose this as the method i am doing it will work for me and my situation :)

As for cardinals. you are correct to an extent - they are sensitive little fish! quite huffy! However, as my tank has been cycled and i will also have plants in there....and its a huge tank, they should be fine!

As far as I know this is more true for neons. Cardinals are meant to be a bit hardier.

i added 20 to my planted 125l after 6/7 weeks no deaths yet at all.

It was 20 neons actually, my mistake
