I've noticed that my green plastic bush now has brown bits on all the 'leaves'. I clean it regularly in cold water when doing my water changes. Any ideas what this is?

Thanks guys. I'll get it out and give it a clean. I don't really like it that much anyway. Would it upset the troops if I took it out altogether?

the fish will appreciate the plants left in the tank for cover/security. plastic plant are bad for attracting algae whereas a lot of real plants will reduce algae growth by competing with it for the nutrients in the water . however if you dont fancy trying real plants then maybe try silk plants i have a couple of silks in my tank that have been there for a couple of months and as of yet no algae has grown on them altho i should point out i do have some real plants too
