hi- im sorry i know this has kinda been covered abit but i just need a little clarification. ppl have been talking about sexing platy fry. all my fry all appear to be female. do their anal fins at first all look like a females and then later fuse to be a males? mine r about 2 months old. some are smaller and slimmer so im wondering if they might be males with their gonipodium not yet developed.

If takes 3 -6 months i find before you can tell for sure-the anal fin always looks like a female when they are younger

Be aware that the presence of a mature male will slow the development of other males. You may think you have a female that changes sexes, but he may just be a late bloomer.
