I have a small 40L tank doing nothing at the moment. I'll be starting a marine tank project in the next month.

Is there anything I can use the small tank for in the meantime? Curing LR maybe? Or setting up as a quarantine tank?

hi mate welcome to the forums

no point using it as a quarantine tank IMO as you have nothing to quarantine yet.

the tank could potentially be used differently based on your requirements.

you could start curing some LR in there but it depends on how big your tank is going to be and how much LR you will be using but it couldnt hurt.

make sure you only use Reverse Osmosis saltwater and invest in a decent protein skimmer. use a powerhead for circulation in the tank.

New tank will be hopefully 4x2x2. Depends on costs etc - I'm working to a strict budget - missus is letting me do this as last tank was destroyed when I moved in with her :S

I'm just ordering equipment bit-by-bit and when I have all the parts I can start.

Of course if I win the lottery in the meantime............

Dont pay any attention to that last sentence! Id use it to cycle LR before my main display was set-up, add the rock when your happy with your display, and then use it to quarantine any new additions. Its a good plan! :good:
