I have a 90 gallon tank and a brand new EHEIM PROFESSIONAL 2026 placed under the tank. I unplug the EHEIM before I do a 30% water change but after I fill the tank back up do I have to push down on the big priming button on top of the EHEIM before I plug it back in or do I just plug it right back in?

Thanks for any help in this matter.

you only have to prime the filter if your water level drops below the level of the intake pipe I have a 2026 and a 2028 and when I do a water change it stays above the bottom of the in take pipe so I leave the pumps running when I do a water change and then just top back up

Hope this helps

I agree with homerw - however I have 2028 and it failed to prime on one ocassion. after much panic and re-checking.

I found that i needed to clear the outlet pipe! I do not know why but once i drain it the filter started to fill with water. There was no need to push the prime button - the water just started to refill the filter. cool

any one know why i had to do this?

Hi, I have a 2026. I thought they were rated up to a 77 gallon tank? I may be worng, but it may be a bit small for your tank.

Make sure there are no air lock in the hose before turning it back on.

Hope this helps.
