quick question about black lighting

Do you think that when I turn the black light on, I'm tricking my litle fishies into thinking it's nighttime? Or are they just annoyed with me for not turning the lights off?

I do not know what the fish are thinking. What i do know is that long-term exposure to blacklight is detrimental to a fish's health.

It will slowly cause damage to the retinas of the fish, especially top-dwellers. May also cause cancer, but this tends to be a bit rarer.

holy moly! I didn't know that! Well, thanks for the info. Just more incentive to get on the ball with the cold cathode moonlight thingy. ::sigh:: looks expensive

Yes, Blacklights can damage a fish's eye, and it makes the water looks horrible, nothing like you'd expect
