Quick Need Advice!

Yep, a breeding pair of Bristlenose Plecs :)
Why'd you ask?

DD

Just wondered, To be honest they are pretty little things- Breaks my heart thinking of getting rid of them. When they start to grow i will but it's no weight on my shoulders at the moment.
Hmm Put some pic's up of them actually have a butch (Also put some more pics up of my Sunshine Pleco)

Common Plecos can easily reach 2 feet. It is not a specific breed and can be anything from a Pleco that will reach 1 foot to one that can reach 2 foot easily. Mine is going into a 300 litre tank today and I know he will very likely need a bigger tank or indoor pond in the near future. He has grown from 2-3" to 11" from May to December so they grow pretty quickly! :)

But you lot keep missing the point, they are only weeny little things atm

Commons grow quickly, mine has grown 8 inches in seven months. They get wider too. I can only speak from my own experience. My Common was supposed to be a Bristlenose which I had researched and would have been ok in my tank. I realised it was not a Bristlenose as it grew like mad - and it has no bristles which is a bit of a clue! Plus I had it id'd on here as I did not know what it was. Sorry to say if you leave things as they are you will have problems pretty soon. Perhaps you could get some secondhand tanks if you don't want to part with them? I can see why you like them, I think they're very nice too but they do have certain requirements. :) I am not trying to worry you but you need to know how fast they grow.

Iv'e been in touch with my local fish shop who said they will take them on no matter the size however i will not get money for them.

Oh, ok. I am sorry if you are going to part with them but if you haven't got large enough tanks they will suffer. I am putting 1 Common Pleco and some small community fish in a 300 litre tank. Perhaps you could start again in the future when you could have a bigger tank? Anyway sorry if you aren't keeping them but you are being sensible and good to your fish. :)

Yes, I did look. He is very nice. Are they all getting on together? What will you do with the Commons when they get big? Sometimes people ask for them on the buy, sell and swap section. :) ps There was a delay in my reply, been to hospital. Visiting.

Lol, same here iv'e been to cinema- Yeah there all together, plec's are still growing fast- I'm either going to sell them to thi bloke down the road, Give them back to the fish shop, Sell or give them away on here or just buy a bigger tank :D

I moved my Common Pleco to his new tank tonight. It was a nightmare! He struggled and went mad. I had to leave it until my husband got home. He is very capable and he only had a bit of trouble. I thought the Pleco would sulk behind the bogwood for days but he is already out and about. I am so glad that is over! I hope you can go for the bigger tank option as you obviously like Plecos a lot. :)

Yeah just i am only 14 so money is a real thing with me, Where about's you from?

Worcs. It is not such a problem for me as regards money because I am old! One of the benefits of being middle aged is often you have done all the expensive things - buy house, bring up children so you have more cash to spare. Having said that my one son is a student which costs heaps! :)
