Quick Lighting Question

Hi Guys

Today I brought two new tubes from my LFS. I went for an Interpet Tri Plus tropical (18w) and a Hagen Aqua Glo (20w)

I already had the Juwel daylight and the Juwel Warm Light tubes that came with the tank, both 18w

I replaced the Juwel tubes with the new tubes and the tank looked very purple. I didn't like the look at all so I replaced the Aqua Glo with the Juwel daylight and it looks a lot better.

However I am not sure what the best combination would be when it comes to plants

Any advice appreciated

I like Interpet Daylight Plus. Arcadia Freshwater Lamp (not Original Tropical) is good too. Either of these in combo with Triplus would give you good results. Much better than the Juwel tubes or Aqua-Glo.

A 2nd for Interpet Daylight Plus, I have a T5 PC on one tank and a T8 on another, really bring out plant and fish colours well.

I'm afraid the Hagen lights are probably on a par with the Juwels as they are the Fluval tank's stock lighting.

If I remember rightly the Aqua Glo is the pinkish one to bring out the fish colours.

I agree with George Interpet Daylight plus or Arcadia Freshwater.
