Hi,

I'm just finishing setting up my aquarium, I've already aquascaped, fitted all the heaters, pumps, filters etc.

I'm just finishing mixing up my batch of salt water.

Initally I went over up to 1.026. Removed some water, and added fresh RO water.
After 30mins, the results came down to 1.023. Is this acceptable? or should I try and get it down to atleast 1.022/21?

Keeping your sg between 1.023 and 1.025 will do be fine, to start with, i have read inverts prefer closer to 1.025, and fish are happy with a lower sg 1.022 up to 1.025, try to keep it as consistant as you can. i try to keep my sg around 1.024, incase i forget a topup and evapouration takes it to 1.025.

Hi mate, both my mix (which I know you read the posts on he he) and the LFS is 1.023, this gives you a little room for missing a top up

remember a stable salinity is better than a moving one, so its better to constantly have 1.019 salinity all the time than having your salinity going from 1.024-1.027 every week.
