I got these at a nearby big box pet store. I'm planning to make a "path" of rocks across the back of my aquarium to keep my loaches from digging my apongoten and water lilly bulbs from the sand. I've never really had rocks but I've read rocks with holes aren't always safe or something. Could someone perhaps give me advice on how to test them for safety or something? Here are pictures if you want to eyeball them .

1. i really like ur dog lol
2. try to use a toothbrush or something to try to get dirt out of the holes, i think that is why it is not safe

When I bought smooth river rocks from PetCo a few years back, they had holes similar to those.

As long as you wash them really good before adding them to the tank, they should be good.

another tip, go to home depot or something and buy "river rock"
it looks the same (probably even better)
$4 for a whole lot...
and a lot of variety
theres just a lot of calcium buildup so be careful

The rocks they sell there say on the bottom of the container that they are not to be used for aquariums. Same for the Lowes brand as well
