Hi again!

Im getting a few bettas from Yeevia soon (cant wait!)

Im putting the male and female in a 10 gal tank (divided of course)

Im reading some of these posts and researching some more.. Im afraid my female may become ill with eggs if they are both next to eachother and flirting. I dont want to breed them, but I dont want any dangers/risks of having them next to eachother like that.

I've always had my males and females separated where they cant see eachother for this reason.

Tell me I am paranoid and its perfectly fine and risk free of anything to have these two sharing the same tank with a divider.

Oh, this morning, i woke up to find Bull made a HUGE bubble nest in his 2.5 gal tank. It nearly covered the entire top! I've never seen it that big :D

Well, I if I were you, I'd not have a female and a male in the same tank, even if it is devided. Because he will blow bublenest. Theres always a possablility of the buble floating over the divider. She might add the w/e, and ect.

But I'm not sure. I bet you'll get better information from people Like bettamomma, who knows everything there is about bettas. ;)

Add a filter that come alone with the 10 gallon tank and sure he will not going to make any bubbles since the water keeps moving and break up the bubble nest. Makesure the pouring side is at the female and the suction is at the male. I have few pairs been in ten gallon and they have no problems so you don't have to worried. Read too much is good but sometimes you might get into wrong wave. LOL Since you don't want to breed, you just feed them enough and not feed them like pigs, starve them once in a week, and never feed them like conditioning. Do turn-off the light at night and let them go to sleep. :) If you follow this rules, you will have a great pair for long life in a ten gallon tank. But you might lost control to breed them because they are great line to breed my dear. :)

as much as I'd love to breed, I have no room! lol. my father took over the basement where it would be best to breed. The fish are all in my bedroom, which isnt all that big.

Thanks for the tips yeevia. I'll keep that in mind.

And as for filter, I have an internal filter that came with the tank. Im not sure if I want to use an internal filter, it takes so much room and looks ugly.

any other suggestion?

All of my female Bettas can see male Bettas. They don't tend to share the same tank water (even with dividers), but they can see them. I have never had any trouble resulting directly from this, and you should be just fine. Females will more often than not take care of their own egg problems, and either make more eggs, or drop them...whichever they need to do at that time. :)
