i dont know if i should post this here or in the livebears bit but anyways
why cant you keep bettas and guppies together?
what will they do to each other?????

I've heard it's not a good idea. I believe it's because the betta might attack the the long fins of the guppy. :/

Guppies can be very nippy too, and might shred the beautiful long fins of your betta! Just not a good combo. -_-

so is it just guppys u shouldnt put them with, because at fish shops they put male in with molys and swordtails

just found a web site that says what tank mates are ok for bettas and it says guppies are heres the link scroll to the bottom of the page and its there
tankmates

It's known among betta keepers not to put guppys with Bettas. When you read somewheres it is ok, that doesn't mean it really is. There will be more sites saying not to. The fins make the guppy look like a betta. Even if guppys are fin nippers, matching chewing abilities with a betta is not wise. Bettas can get along with almost any fish that will get along with it. That doesn't mean it will get along. They pretty much do as they please unless there is something more capable of chewing in with them. A good example of not always believing what you read, is this message board, and every other board. Everyone has an opinion. Some are right, and some are not. Sometimes they both are right..lol

ok fair play, was just woundering, i would never put mine in trouble with getin fins niped they enjoy there own tank lol
