how can you tell the diffrence between guppies i mean sex wise?

Generally, males are coolourful, whilst females are dull and boring ( in colour that is)

well i got 2 and they look diffrent 1 has a round full tail and the other has a split tail

I agree, colour is generally very unreliable to distinguish the sex of guppies. Males will have a gonopodium, and females will have a normal anal fin.

I did know about the fins, but always thought (and was told ) colour was an easier indicator ..... I stand corrected ..... and will go back to the lfs, which I havnt used for a while anyway, and give him a slap.
