Question On Tubes Please

I have decided to replace the tubes on my Aqua Style AR-850 hood. It takes 3 tubes, 2 x 30" T8's and one 23.5". In the past I have had the middle smaller tube as a blue light as I was told it enhances the fish but I want to change this so had a look around. Now Aqua One do a sunlight tube and a tropical tube. So I thought I would call a company to check which combo I needed. They said two 30" tropicals and one 23.5" sunlight. I thought this sounded odd so checked here and this would suggest I needed two sunlights and one tropical.

Now I'm confused. I want tubes to promote my plant growth and want to enhance my fish colours as well so I think 2 sunlights and one tropical. Would you think this is right?

Go with whatever colour suits you - Don't worry about the plants.

Tis true, it's what your eyes warrant, the plants will adapt to any light. You need to be looking at the Kelvin rating, the higher the Kelvin the bluer/whiter the tube.

I ran 2x 9000k bulbs for a few years and loved the clean look that came with it.
