Hello everyone, I'm Julia and I have just joined!

So, a little about my aquarium:

I have a densely planted, 120 liter Jewel Lido that has been set up for a little over a year.
It is running on an internal filter that came with the tank as well as a Eheim Canister Filter 2215 which is external.

It is freshwater and tropical.

So, on to my stock and my question!

4 Rummy Nose Tetra
5 Neon Tetra
4 Oto
4 Female Betta
4 Sterbai Cory
3 Bronze Cory
3 Albino Cory
5 or so Assassin Snails

I would very much like to buy 5 more rummy nose tetra and 5 more neon tetra.

I was wondering if, with the filtration that I currently have, if that would be alright.

Thank you!

You will be absolutley fine :) sounds like a lovely tank I would add a few more sterbai cory as well as the albino and brozne are the same species but the sterbai would probs like a few more friends :)

Thank you Wills for your response!

I started with only one Sterbai because I did not realize that they liked to be with their own kind (beginners stupidity) and they were 15 euro a pop unless I bought them in bulk of 5. Luckily, since they only have 3, they allowed me to buy them for the price of 5 (ended up being only 6 euro).

I'll definitely look into a few more Sterbai if they have them available.

And I am so excited to get more rummy nose's. They are mine and my mother's favorite.

I have myself another question.

Yesterday we went and bought more fish (7 Rummynose, 4 Cardinal tetra) and I was looking at their stock of angelfish.

I was wondering if, in my 120 liter, I could have a pair or if that would go over my stocking limit?

Here's my current stock so you don't have to scroll back up:

11 Rummy Nose Tetra
9 Neon Tetra
4 Oto
4 Female Betta
4 Sterbai Cory
3 Bronze Cory
3 Albino Cory
5 or so Assassin Snails

I think that would take you over your limit. Theres a stocking calculator kicking about somewhere. Angels are just evil imo.

Alright. I wouldn't want to put undue stress onto the aquarium just because I want something that looks pretty.

But I still have to ask if it's possible!

What about gourami? I know that they are a big no-no with male betta but, what about with female betta?

I was looking at the honey gourami and they are quiet pretty.

There's a thread about it on the gourami forum right now ("I Know That Your Not Supposed To But What's The Reason?") - gouramis with female bettas is generally not a good idea, but some people have had success. You can say that about a lot of things, though - lots of space, the right aquascape, and a lot of luck with cooperative specimens and you'd be amazed the species people have managed to keep together without incident. So on the one hand, if you know what you're getting into and have plan B ready to go in a heartbeat, sometimes it's fun to experiment, but on the other hand, don't expect it to work out because somebody else made it work. I've had adult fish live together for over a year that a lot of keepers would say are strictly incompatible, though, and the only reason they aren't anymore is that my own mistake killed one of the them.

Alright. Unfortunately the Juwel Lido is very compact in shape. It's taller than it is long. So it probably would not be a good, idea in that case, to have Gourami with the girls. If they ended up not getting along, there wouldn't be too many places the Gourami could go to get away from them.

And I'm not allowed another tank as I'll be leaving in a year (I pray) and my parents do not want to take care of more than one aquarium.

Perhaps I'll go with a few more girls, if they have some that are prettier than plane brown with somewhat red fins.

wait you said at first you had 5 neon tetras then you bought 4 CARDINAL tetras? they are not the same species, they just look similar the cardinals have a full red stripe while neons have a half red stripe

Did I? Oops!

No, I have all Cardinal tetra! Sorry about that!

The pet store that I go to calls Cardinals," Red Neon Tetra" because they sell another species that is also a Cardinal (no idea what is is).

Sorry for the confusion.
