Question Involving Sand, And Bigger Fish

id like to keep a small amount of average sized fish , and use sand as substrate , i have had the tank over a year , its empty and im starting over, so , what kind/s of fish do well with sand rather than horrible sharp stony gravel ?

please educate me !

I have sand in my community tank and my cichlid and cichlid fry tank i really can't see why any fish would have problems with sand.

any fish will live happly in said it is better for some fish like corys and loaches

I think there are very few fish that don't do well in sand, while there are many that do not thrive on gravel. The only problem with sand it you need to maintain it - 'turn' it regularly and it can clog filters.

it just takes some getting used to for cleaning with a siphon
