Hey I just started out with my first tank a few days ago. On my first purchase I got a Pangasius Catfish (I didnt realize how big it grew so I'm gonna have to have to release it at some point) and two Leporinus. Oh, and one snail. All of the fish are semi agressive tropical and I had plans to get 4 khuli loaches and one or two of the dwarf frogs I think they are called. I was wondering if the fish I have now will bother the new ones too much or is it an ok combination?

Ok no problem. I let the tank cycle for about 3 days before I got the fish.and its been 3 days since and no problems yet. I have a 10 gallon tank (tiny! I know). But I don't have it overcrowded with rocks and plants, so theres a good bit of open swimming space.

Hi and welcome. I don't want to burst your bubble, but the tank you have isn't suitable for the fish that are in it. Your Leporinus will grow to about 10" and one other thing - where do intend "releasing" your catfish? Please read the pinned article suggested by LmyO - 3 days is not sufficient time for cycling a tank, albeit a small one. I suggest you take all your fish back to the lfs, add some decorations and plants (all fish like and need some cover and a place to hide every now and then) and then either cycle your tank fishless or get some SMALL hardy fish for cycling.

 renegade fish lover here lol, i didnt cycle my tank, i have7 fish (2 pregant) in a 10g tank and there all fine :D

edit: ok so im getting a 50g in the next few days so am not overcrowded and ill probably cycle that as the size means needs more time but SHUSH mwaha

I just did what the kit told me to. It said to wait 24-48 hours after de-chlorinating and letting the water run through the filter. At the store it said the Leporinus were only going to get to 3 and a half inches in size though. I guess Ill go return them though with the catfish.

Ahh, you're a good lad/ladette Boondock. I'm sure that you'll get lots of nice fishies that will live happy contented lives with you.
