Question about Salvini

Just wondering, is there a difference between Nandopsis salvini. and Cichlasoma salvini or is it the same genus. If they are different what are the main differences?

the nandopsis salvini, or salvini's cichlid, was previously classed as cichlasoma. same fish.

Thanks semper fi, that leads me to one more question. I have seen conflicting info as to max size, anywhere from 6 to 10 inches. Any idea what the max is?

about 10 inches. females are smaller than males.
