No, they shouldn't at all... Who told you that?? And what kind of anemones?

I have 3 hermit crabs in my tank and 1 un-identified species..... to date none of them have bothered with my anenome,
2 clown fish live in mine and it is very close to the tank floor and all are living happily and have been for some time.
So no..... i don't believe they will kill it but my opinion is through having them and not on science.

thanks for your replies, my bubbletip anenomie died, my leather coral does not look good, the guy at the saltwater fish store it's because of the crabs and that i should get rid of them right away

Crabs dont kill bubbletips or leather corals. Your problem lies elsewhere. My off the top of my head guesses would lean towards water quality, flow or lighting being out of whack (or some combination thereof)
