The Kenya Tree Coral relies less on the symbiotic algae within it, and depends more on obtaining outside food. Microplankton, marine snow, and dissolved materials should make up the bulk of its diet.

is this true? if so does this mean that i can get one now without having to worry about it having enough light?

HI...I don't have a Kenya tree (cladiella sp) but I do have a spaghetti finger (sinularia). It is my impression that they are mostly photosynthetic, however, most corals will do better if supplemented with eithy phyto or zooplankton, based on their preferences. I'm sure Kenya tree will do fine under the appropriate lighting, but, I'd supplement. Afterall, they catch stuff in the wild. SH
