I have to disagree....

It depends on what you will be QTing. I think it's a good idea for most fish, especially since a considerable amount of saltwater fish are wild caught. You have no idea what they are potentially carrying. Although QT doesn't quarentee you'll be putting in a disease free fish, it's handy if something does pop up. It's also easier if you do end up medicating the fish - you don't have to try and catch the fish to put it in a new tank.

To each his own, but I suppose once you get a nasty pathogen in your display tank, you'd be inclined to QT afterwards.

If you've invested $10,000 dollars in Live Stock and Fish, would you like one dodgy purchase killing your beloved Aquarium? I dont have a QT, but if I had extra funds, and more money invested in larger stocked aquariums, I definitely would.

BTW, QT's only have to be very rudimentary. Heater, Lids, water flow and somewhere to hide (no LR, just some PVC tubing) and your done.

Well all i can say is that i have only lost one fish since using a QT.
