quality heater

anyone know whats a good quality heater that i can get.. because i bought an Aquatic Gardens heater, used it for a few hours and it stopped working

Ebo Jager brand is the one I trust the most. Tronics and Visi Therms are supposed to be decent as well, and I own a few of Tronics as well...

That could be the heater is "overheating" in my "dead mind" terms.
The heater switches off, then probably goes back on a certain amount of time; i think most heaters do that.
Try thinking that of a normal portable heater.

It may have a theromstat on it that switches it off when the temp is reached, then when the temp drops it comes back on.
Too check this turn up the heat setting, if it comes on then it has a thermostat.
don't forget to turn it back down, you don't want boiled fish

I used a tronic, it has never given me any problems.

Always remember to have a heater spare just in case your main one breaks down.

then it sounds like its broken. take it back to where you got it and get a replacement

I am new to fishkeeping, but when I was doing my homework before I started, I had heard a lot of good things about ebo jagar heaters.

So, I decided to buy one and it has been great so far. I say take yours back and try and get a fully submersible ebo jagar.

I had a tronic which cooked my favrourite fish. Only after 2-3 years though. Just a word of warning.
