Pygmy Cory

Hey

I have been looking into these today. I have always aimed to add Julii Cory to my tank but I found out about these smaller guys and thought they would be ideal.

I rang round my 3 lfs that have a good reputation but none of them stock these fish and I don't recall ever seeing them in pets at home. Are these usually hard to find? Or am I just having bad luck? Can anyone recommended anywhere online to buy these that are reliable (im in Northern Ireland) and also have good quality fish (I know some online/ebay sources are rather dodgy.)

Well there's a store just down the road from me but I don't know if they ship to you type in to google kesgrave tropicals and it is an eBay store but these guys have a good rep so you'll be safe with buying from them just ask them before just invade of not being able to send to you

If you have a Maidenhead aquatics near you they have them quite regularly

There is a MA near Kilkeny, I know its not NI but its got to be nearer than the mainland, for postal purposes.

thats down south, international rates, mainland is actually cheaper as its within UK rates

Tip: if you ever want to buy from them, go view the fish first, then buy them on eBay and pay with Paypal, then go pick them up. I pre-agreed the price and collection with Kesgrave via eBay, then went to pick them up as petrol and post cost exactly the same and it was safer for the fish to be 1 hour in transit than 24 hours. When I got there, I was told that I had to pay "shop prices", not the price that we had agreed on, because I was "buying them from the shop and not through eBay": t'was very stupid of me to try and save them some eBay and Paypal fees.

Don't know where you are in NI, but Dobbies garden centre get them in from time to time, & will order some in for you.
There's a store in Lisburn

I did ring dobbies but they said they didn't have any though they didn't mention they may be able to order them in, I will find out about this, thanks!

As they aren't a specialist aquatics store, they tend to only get in the usual species that they know they can sell.
I was in my local one today chatting with the staff (I'm a regular) & they did say they will get species to order as long as it's not too obscure.
I have seen pygmies in there before, but they don't have them regularly.
