Hi all :)

Well, the topic header says it all really. I'm in love with pygmy cories, and I was hoping to have those AND cherries + tiger shrimp in a 96 litre tank at work... But I can't find any info about whether the corys would harrass the shrimp.

I don't think they would, as I've read in most places that they're peaceful, but that generally just means with other fish.

Can anyone shed any light?

No chance. corydoras are a gentle specie's of fish and i've kept all of mine fine with my cherry shrimp.

I have cherry shrimp in with my strebai, peppered, dwarf, julii cory's as well as my emeralds and have never had a problem with them. The shrimp orignially are a bit freaked out by having these huge catfish bumbling around them, but the shrimp soon learn the cory's mean them no harm and settle in well with them. The cory's may eat the odd shrimplet occassionally but they don't bother the adults at all. The only fish I don't trust with my shrimp are the Pakistani loaches ( yoyo loaches) and possibly my vulture like guppies that will have a go at anything. Even my Siamese Fighters don't seem interested in trying to eat adult shrimp, but I have seen the male eat shrimplets I guess they looked too temptingly like mozzie wrigglers. Brislte Nose catfish and Black neon tetras also leave the cherry shrimp alone and I am soon going to see if Khuli loaches can be trusted with cherry shrimp as well.

I was told gourami's would harrass and peck at shrimp, but mine is terrified of them haha... he went near them when they first went in, and when the shrimp swam away (VERY quickly), he freaked out and hasn't been near them since lol

EEEEEEEE now to plan and aquascape the 96 litre :D
