Pvc Pipe For Plecs

Will 1 3/4" pipe be big enough for plecs sized 4-5" in length?

I was thinking of also getting some rainwater pipe turned upside down for these plecs? Any thoughts?

slate looks better - with a tile cutter and some aquarium silicone you can make great caves... since introducing these to our tanks - the PVC pipes have been left un inhabited
