I bought a couple of these on Friday. I've seen them in a book described as Morgurnda Morgunda and in the fish index on this site there is Morgurnda adspersa. what difference is there in these two types and how can I tell which ones I have.

They are about 3" long and have settled in great. I love there shape and face and they look great patrolling the tank and they are feeding well on frozen food. I may get a couple more as I believe they are good in groups.

has anyone kept these and got info?

I've got one. :)
Had him about 2 months and he's grown quite alot. He's about 4 inches long now and become very tame.I only bought one and he seems to do ok on his own. When i first got him he would only eat frozen bloodworms and earthworms but about 3 weeks ago started to eat Aquarian flakes as well and now eats them all the time.
Sorry i can't help with identifying what type.I bought mine just because i liked him. :) :)

Morgurnda mogurnda is the more commonly traded species, the usual way to tell the difference is M.adspersa has spotting on both the second dorsal fin and anal fin where as M.morgurnda only has spotting on the dorsal, M.adspersa also has a slimmer over all shape to M.morgurnda.

I'm made up with them. now they've been in a few days they have a good presence in the tank. I will get a couple more this weekend hopefully.

they have bizarre eyes

Yep,those eyes are like a foggy blue. :)
Do yours all get on ok?I'm thinking of getting another one myself. Is there a way of sexing them?
Here's a pic of mine.Still not sure what type it is.

I've noticed the eyes of all our gudgeons have an iridescent quality .......sometimes they look green , other times orange or yellow . I think this has to do with lighting and the color of the fishes surroundings .

and other times the look normal , well dark anyway ..............

I like these fish so much I bought 2 more. I now have 4 and they look great. I'd never seen these in my local fish shop before just knights gobies and peacock.
