Purchased My African Knife Fish! :d

Well i dropped some blood worms in the tank a little after lights off with my moonlight rig on and saw him happily gobble up a whole bunch!

:good: Great to hear

And i also got some Christmas money so i can order some more plants! So had another thought today as of tank mates, what do you think of the Siamese flying fox? Obviously id feed them, but between feedings they can graze on algae as ive heard they do a great job in that department. Would they be compatible with the knife fish and archers?

Edit: I;m not adding these as just a tool, i actually like their colors and they way they swim and such

As long as they are to large to be considered a meal, they will be just fine.

Are you able to give us a little picture of him?

well its been a week... i feed him blood worms every night right after lights out, which i see him eat because of my ghetto moonlight. Ive tried numerous times with bloodworms in during the day, and with pellets, flakes, and freeze dried foods too but he just doesnt come out at all during the day...which i dont mind as im usually up late enough to see him zooming around the tank although it would be nice to see him during feeding times so i can actually grab a picture....

I got one as a Christmas present, he is brown and shy and about 2.5 inches. He is really an awesome fish, and is becoming more social everyday. The only tank I currently have big enough is a 30 gallon, and mine shares with 2 angels and 2 diamond tetras.

I'm saving up for a 75 gallon, but I think I'll be ok as long as he doesn't have a major overnight growth spurt. I will be keeping my eye on him to see if he ever acts predatory, but for now, the angels rule the tank, and he's ok with it.

Enjoy your new pet!
