Pump question

UPDATE!!

Wow! I'm amazed! I bought a cheap plastic quick disconnect from Walmart to try this.....wow....lol.

It works! It drained my 10 gallon faster, my 20 across the room maybe a hair slower than before. All I did was start the siphon (turning on both hot and cold for stronger flow) then once it got going, disconnected and put the hose in the tub. No more wasted water! Yay! I could hug you right now Mike! Lol.

Now since the 55s will be higher, hopefully it will drain them better than the 20. But it works! No pump needed!

Forgot to add...I did lose the suction switching between tanks so I had to connect it and start it again. Only took a 10-15 seconds so I'm ok with that since I'm saving water!

And, I will probably upgrade to a metal quick disonnect just for something longer lasting. Lol.

Wow, 'lectronic hugs! (lol)

Okay, another tip.... if you add a hose shut off valve (on the tub side of the hose) and shut the flow off (between tanks) so the hose is full of water, then you switch tanks and re-open the valve - the siphon should start again w/o hooking back up to the sink. The flow of water from the hose should restart the siphon in the next tank.
Note: don't drop the hose on the tank side or the water in the hose will be on the floor! :)

Awesome! I believe I have an extra shut off valve somewhere so if I find it I can put that on easy enough for next time!

As for the water on the floor....been there done that! Lol. Mostly with the clean water hose as my shut off for it is on the tank side. Then I go shut the water off in the sink and put the Python in drain mode. So there is still water in it without suction. Lol. I forget sometimes....lol.
