I'm looking into possibly adding a puffer to my soon-to-be-lonely-Pleco's 30 G tank at my place of business.
First question in this would be if ANY of the species of Puffers (larger than dwarf) are compatible with Pleco, or should I just move him out into my 20 at home?

Plecs and puffers don't mix unfortunately, plecs are a sitting target...

Depends on the pufferfish and the plec. But my Panaque nigrolineatus lives perfectly happily with two Carinotetraodon irrubesco and three Colomesus asellus. Occasionally she scares the puffers when she's swimming about, but mostly they ignore her.

Cheers, Neale

Well, poor Pleco has been picked on enough in the year I've had him. He's been tankmates with my ever growing Clown Knife Fish for about 7 months now. The CKF constantly badgers Pleco and steals his food when he can. Pleco is throughly shy, yet very capable of defending himself because of it. I'll submit to just giving the poor guy a break in life and letting him in with my tetra's... he'll be much happier with them I think.

Thanks for the input!
