don't be a twit
I've got a C. asellus that I've kept in a HEAVILY planted 5-gal for a yeat now with no obvious problems. He used to get antsy and try to swim through the glass whenever I hit the lights for a few days after a good vacuuming, but I made him a slate cave and now he just hides back there. Once he forgets that I cleaned the cage, he does ok though!
Throw a bunch of snails in with whatever type you get. They do a great job of eating puffer waste and excess food. And the more plants you can squeeze in, the less likely you are to have water issues.
