:dunno: Hello, my figure 8 is acting wierd lately. When he is sitting in his corner his colors become really dull, and the figure 8 barely shows up. He is almost monotone. BUT whenever I go hear the tank and watch him he goes back to his true colors. He is eating fine (Frozen blood worms and ghost shrimp) and just dined on his first snails today (3 in 5 minutes). All the water parameters are normal, and I have had no changes lately. He appears to be happy with his tank mates, and has many hiding spaces. I just started noticeing it in the past few days.

Is this normal behavior; some sort of camoflauge?

Sounds like he is taking a few naps throughout the day. A lot of puffers will display sleep coloration that looks pale and washed out, some of my Dwarfs look like albinos when they are sleeping, but as long as he brightens up when active and is eating well I wouldn't worry too much.

Cool thanks, yea he brightens up as soon as he is awake, and I only see it when ne is still in his corner. (sleeping I guess)
