Pseudotropheus Saulosi

Hey, I'm not the one getting overheated here :)

You just have to understand that not everyone is coming from the same place you are. Remember there is more than one religion so whilst you may preach to your hearts content about wild caught fish and F1's not everyone actually cares. I'm only saying that maybe trying to not be quite so bombastic about your beliefs would endear you a little better and stop you coming over as being quite so arrogant.

I for one just want a nice looking tank with a nice colourful assortment of cichlids. I'm not particularly interested in wasting lots of money buying 50 Saulosi to find I've got rubbish fish, then having to start all over again racing up and down the country. To each their own Justin. Maybe I just don't like being preached at :( and ....you were the one making it personal. Why take offense at me calling you a budding purist when after all you are aspiring to become a purist? That was a compliment :)

Well theres not really much more to say apart from the guys at MA in Morden are great, they stock both types of Saulosi and go out of there way to make sure that thier stock is of the very best quality.

10 out of 10.

Ok - i've got hold of the wrong end of the stick :/

Took that comment the wrong way

OK - I'm not a WC freak who is over zealous. I have 4 WC fish out of 50 in my tank, thats hardly taking it to the extreme is it now :D

I hope i'm not coming across to people as get WC fish, I hope I'm coming across as get GOOD fish (whtever their history)

If you take your time and don't go around just buying the fish you like the look of, you are more likely to in the end have a good looking tank, not waster time effort and moey with fish that you have bought on instinct cuase you just had to have it when you was at the shop.

:D

Here endth the first lesson :fun: :fun: :fun:

I don`t think you can say that all MA fish are poor there is one in York which I`ve been to which seems fine and has some great looking adult fish in it`s display tank. I know they get european tank bred fish from a company called Petra I think but they also get stock from local breeders so they are going to vary a bit from shop to shop.
Looking back they also gave me spot on advice when I was first getting interested in the Hobby and Malawi`s.

I always wonder how LFS`s go on with there water PH / Hardness given they have South American Cichlids and Africans in tanks next to each other ? I sometimes wonder if when kept in incorrect conditions i.e. soft water with a low PH this has an effect on there growth/development.
