I certainly hope so... If the PS3 lives up to it's claimed 10 year lifespan we shouldn't see anything new before 2015, not to mention the fact that the PS3 console has only just started to sell at a profit...
what a laugh. many PS3's didnt last two years, and still sony make people (who dont know what they are doing) pay to replace it. it was 4 years, after launch, before the unit was, even, reliable. (YLOD, blu-ray deaths)
Sony do listen, but only after they have your money.
what a laugh. The OP means that Sony will support/release games for the PS3 for around 10 years, same way they did with the PS2.
I've had my PS3 since launch day, and I've never had a problem with it. They released early 2007 in Europe, you're telling me they they are only making reliable units this year?
Every electrical product has teething troubles and faulty units, though the PS3 has had miniscule problems compared to the 360
only the 80g, of the old style ps3's, had any sort of reliability. you can, as you usually do, ignore the facts. i know many with PS3's that have no problems. i know, only, slightly less people, who have had problems. you experience proves nothing. a quick review of the PS3 forums will reveal the extent of the problem. even Sony had to stop their "extended" guarentee system, because the YLOD was costing them so much.
you can, and will, ignore that though. fair do's.
@Tech-Frog. i, and many others, object to having to pay, £100 for a replacement item, less than two years old. its also against the retail laws in this country. unfortunately the people tasked with sorting this out, are the retailers, not SONY. UK retail law say the retailer has a, sliding, scale or responsibility for items sold. this last for 6 years. (sale of good act). despite, sony, producing a unit that they knew was faulty, and was likely to fail with use. the YLOD is/was caused by gas bubbles in the PCB boards. sony knew about this.
I have a PS3, and love it. I'm only glad i waited for some years before buying one. they cost enough, without have to pay another £100, after only a year or so.
