I am wanting to get my brother the ethernet adapter for the playstation slimline for his birthday. So what exactly do i need to buy and how do i connect it?

As far as i am aware i need the "wireless game/ bridge adapter" which plugs in the back, then does this connect to my router wirelessly? (sp?) Is this all i need/ do?

There is loads of guides on the net and i dont know which to follow and all the local game shops dont sell it

Thanks.

sorry for the delay, i googled it and found this link, it has two links on it, you may need both of them, im sure you can figure it out from there:

which is the same as i currently have for my PC so hopefully it should work!

yea looks good, should do the trick, as far as i know its just a cabel from the ps2 to the wireless box and then obviously you would have connections from the box going to power, telephone wire connection thingy etc

Ok, i could do with some help again if you dont mind. I have recieved everything but after 1.5hrs i can still not get it working  :/

What i have done

connected my new router to my computer by plugging it in the back, so the info is now stored on my PC
After connecting it to the PC, i unplugged it and i returned the new router to the PS2, and plugged the ethernet cable into the back along with the power supply.
The power light and wireless light come on, but the internet light didnt - does this mean i need to plug the router into a phone socket with a phone line?

equipment i have

new router:

as far as i understand it should go:
PS2 > ethernet cable > PS2 router - wirelessly connect to - PC router > internet

is that not right? I cant see where i am going wrong? unless it is the phone line that is missing? I have one of these lying around (name escapes me) so i presume i will have to use that to connect it to the phone line

Thanks.

not to hot on this but worth a try

Plug into your computer and there should be something in the control panel for the router to turn off its functionality as a modem and use as a network extender or access point. Once you have done this it will turn into a basic network switch and should could connect to your network easily. Do all this on the computer and once its working plug into the back of the ps2.

Also you have a PM :)
