Excellent comments about the puddle issue. I know about rice paddies and only chose the word "puddle" because every single sheet I read that was given out at different stores to the purchaser of a betta stated that they lived in "puddles" (so the average person probably believes they live in puddles) I never did find one that stated anything about rice paddies or a changing environment (research time! Lots of research coming up and it happens to be my favorite thing!) I'll add those distinctions including photos (nothing like a picture) to the site and definately agree that it is important. I'm getting a new graphics program for christmas and can't WAIT to get rid of my antique, life will be easier I would also be very willing to post anyones poetry, artwork, etc. on the site and give you full credit for it. Just please make sure it does not have a copyright and that you wouldn't mind anyone using it for free to help the bettas. A long work in progress is ahead and the site will not fully be available or advertised until its done. For now its only advertised very simply in a few places to get your valuable input about what is necessary and needed. It will make a wonderful project I just posted this note on the site:
Cerulean went home yesterday evening, 11/22/04. We miss him terribly. Anger for the mistreatment he existed in swirls with compassion and respect for life he taught us thru his fight to overcome all. The amazing thing? He brought together literally hundreds of people as we searched forums, websites, made telephone calls, wandered stores searching for anything that would help him. They offered their expertise, compassion, and time all for this little rescued fish. He can give us hope. The road to Betta Awareness will continue. Each of us can make a difference. Thank you all. We love and miss you Cerulean.
