Profile Picture

Hi guys. Ive done over 60 posts. I still cant change my profile picture. How do you do it? I exceed the size of photo required but the amount required is that much. Most smart phone cameras have decent cameras these days.
I cant add photos to threada either. I have to use drop box. Which also didnt work when trying to add my profile picture.

Exceeding the amount by any, even 1 KB will cause it to be rejected. You will need to resize the photo to make it work. Since most smart phone cameras are good now days they take rather large file sized images which have to be resized. Most cameras will have apps available to do that.

I use photobucket and in their edit section of the specific photos there is a resize button. You can try giving that a whirl

If you use tinypic, you should be able to resize it there.

Good ol' Microsoft Paint allows you to resize images too, that's what I use.

I tried cropping in photo bucket and it hasnt worked. And i tried doong through a link and that wont connect to server
All i want to do is add a profile pic.

If you use photobucket then there's no need to resize or crop your image. Simply copy and paste the image's web location this will be displayed in your photos bucket library. For your profile pic you need to copy and paste the "direct" link; whereas for posts in threads you can use the "IMG" or "IMG thumb" links from photobucket.

If all else fails you could post a link to your photo and I'm sure somebody could resize it for you.

ive tried all this. None of it worked. it couldnt connect to server ?!?!? ( i was baffled)
but i found another app that did so problem solved.

Hey there, welcome to the forums!  I think the problem might be that you need 60 posts before you can add a profile picture.  The reason is because some spammers were creating accounts just so they could use their profile pictures for advertising.

It's not quite 60 for that, but it's a like 25...but yes, that's why. I recently lowered it, I can't remember to what, because we want people to do profiles so didn't want them to wait that long. I just can't recall the amount, it might even be as low as 5...I could be totally wrong though...my brain isn't fixing on it...
