Hello

I am setting up a new marine aquarium and I am having a few problems.

I have put all the pieces together, filled with de-chlorinated reef salted water and then I have checked all the chemical readings and temperature but they are all fine.

However my protein skimmers collection cup is filling with water and the water in the main tank is cloudy.

Can someone help please ?

Thanks

Chris

Just sand and water? Fresh sand often kicks up dust and will really play with a new skimmer. Turn the skimmer off, leave some powerheads on and let it sit, should clear up in a day or so

when you do turn the skimmer back on, turn the water flow down or adjust the height of the water level. Quite often skimmers will pump up lots of water and little else if they are too low in the water. You might only have to raise it a mm or two for it to work properly. Check the instruction book that came with it.
