Problem

Sorry guys but i know this is in the wrong forum alltogether but no other means of contact. I am a registered user with login etc but can only post "new topic" in this forum. All the other marine forums i try to post in come up with error message "you do not have permission to post in this forum". Can a moderator or webmaster please help?

Huh, that's the first time I've ever heard of this one. Not knowing the answer straight away I'll bring this up with the rest of the Moderatorship and the Admin for you. In the meantime, your profile indicates you're still "validating". Have you responded to the email that TFF sent you after registering for the site? Could be something hung up there. I'll be in touch.

Hi jaypeez and welcome to the forum.

The problem is that you haven't validated your membership. I see that you said you never got the email to validate. Since, you haven't validated yet, you should have a link at the top of the page that says something like "Resend Validation". If not, you can have the validation email resent here. You just need to check his Spam filter to make sure it will come through. The email woll come from a gmail.com account. I'm actually really surprised you could post in this section as I thought you could only post in the Welcome and New the the Forum sections until you validated.

If you can't get the email to come through, try sending William a PM. He is the admin and the only one that can validate manually.

OK have done that, but still dont understand how i can start a "new topic" in this particular forum but not in say marine reef chit chat.
If i try i get error message "you do not have permission to post in this forum". Just waiting for email now.

Jaypeez, you can probably also post in the Welcome and New to the Forum section. Each forum/subforum has a setting as to which group of individuals can post there and which group of individuals can see the section. Users in the "Validating" group are supposed to only be able to post in those above sections. Why you can post here is a mystery that only the admin (William) could solve.

Eh, I'll just close it and let it drop. Btw, William signed on and manually validated your account for you. You should be able to post with it now
