I have a Elite802 pumpand it has dual outlets. One air stone always seems to be getting more air then the other. Is this normal or is there a problem with the pump. Also how do you guys secure air stones in the the tank and hide the lines. I was trying to bury them in the gravel but it isnt working they wont stay. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Try pulling off the stones and then see if it looks even. Could be a stone. These things are very hard to get an even flow out of. If you can just get a maxi jet they are the best pumps and a million times better than an airstone.. only thing I use an airstone for is emergency boxes in my tank and growing brine shrimp.

maxijets if you stay gph 10-20x the volume of your water you are fine.

I have the LARGEST ehime can and one of the larger penguins on a 10g atm (moving tank stuff) with the right direction and ornaments the fish hardly even feel the flow (these are rated for 160g tanks and 55g tanks respectivly... so don't belive the hipe.

Im only using it for looks. I just think it looks cool when the bubbles rise from the gravel.

After about an hour of burying and reburying an airline the other day I had a stroke of genius... although I'm sure this is what you are SUPPOSED to do, just that I'm slow sometimes.

I would get the line completely buried under 2" of large gravel and 10 minutes later it would work it's way out. "Well duh", I said to myself, "it's rubber and filled with air!" DAMN!

I had bought a 6 pack of rubber plunger clamps to secure the line to the wall, but only needed three of them. So I dug a trench in the gravel, stuck one plunger at each end of the trench and stretched the tube nice and snug between them. Then I buried it and it hasn't ecome up yet, crossing fingers, for about three days.

:flex:

What a lovely tank Socrates!

We discovered it's a heck of alot easier to "position" a line when the pump is off... put it in place and then turn it on. If you already tried that, then I'm sorry but it must be one of those things! :X

What we did, was secure an airstone underneath a rock... works really well AND isn't a hassle when vacuuming.

I never thought about turning it off first. LOL I had a couple tubes from a undrgravel filter and put the air line through it and then stuck some gravel in it and it kept it under the gravel. Works great now but thanks for the suggestions I will use them in the future.
