Problem With My Siamese Fighting Male

you cannot keep a male anf female betta together, if you want a community get a group of females

thanks for the info - -
i thought it would be nice- like a couple LOL
now i know that it wouldn't be a harmonious couple at all...

i'm still researchin about bettas...
and a bit complicated in a community tank...
lots of cons - -

i learned that male would attack any fish with fins as well
thinking that it was another male betta... arrggghhh

now i'm stucked again thinking what first fish to buy...
:hyper:

true about finned fish, but sometimes females can be the same, my group of 4 females killed my female guppies that had no colour at all

Well our new male tank is up and running :) it looks pretty good

Just got another 3 female fighters to go with my other 2 so hopefully they will be alot better

il get some pics up of both tanks later :)

Thanks for all the help on this :D

Here ya go all done :D

i've been reading this topic and looks like bettas a bit much to handle - :(
i was planning of having bettas as my first tank inhabitants...
now i'm having second thought..

but i really like bettas... :S
hmmm looks like i have to research more on them - -

:D

Hi
Its not that difficult :good: Just follow the simple guidelines and all should be ok :good:

Dont keep a male with another male or females
Dont keep a male with fin nippers or other aggressive fish
Keep females either by themselves or in a group minimum of 4/5
Personally, and as long as the females dont have longish fins and are monitered, a group of them can be kept in a tank with other fish. Particularly if its well planted.

it's good to hear that u able to replace the leaking tank - -
yah - - i, might be still up for it - but it's the male betta
i want in the community tank -

so i'm planning to put 1 male 1 female...
and in the near future - a few other species - -
depending on who bettas tankmates are..

I'm not going to be kind. If you cannot read plain English, you should not try to keep a betta Efren. I mean... seriously?

....

On another note. Nice Setup damovts! that is a sweet male :good:. I'm sure he is loving the tank. Keep us updated :)

In the closeup shot of the whole tank, is the reddish fish to the top left of the filter one of your 'female' bettas? If so I think that one is a girl.
