This means it could still be a male and a female thenI remember, when I got my two BNs, they used to have territory disputes (as in, one of them, which was a teeny bit bigger, would chase off the other one if it got too close). Over time, it became obvious that one was a male (the teeny bit bigger one) and the other female. Now they like each other, unless the male (Sir Burton) is eating. Then the female (Mrs Lovett) can bugger off, lol

At 2 inches you can start to see the bristle. So if your plecos have a good amount of Bristles now they are both males. If one does not have any bristles then most likely it is a female. They are really easy to sex.
Yes females will sometimes develop the whiskers but nothing like the males. The females might get a little around the mouth that's about it. But when they are young you will not see any on the girls.
