I've been looking over Aquabid again. The shipping is always Priority and Express. I have a book about bettas and it states about Express, "I have never gotten an Express betta alive and within 5 days." But Priority is always cheaper, so is it worse? Which is better to choose?

I choose express when I have the money. It comes 1 or 2 days later, and it's guaranteed. I've gotten fish priority too, and they always made it okay, but USPS doesn't have a guarantee on how long it'll take.

So both are generally okay? I'd rather go on the cheaper side, but I don't want to risk having my fish dying.

It actually says that in a book?

Well, I've never had a DOA using either. I've sent thousands via priority, and nearly as many express and all have been just fine. A percentage of breeders use priority to send their fish to shows as well, since it's so much cheaper, and I've never had a priority show fish arrive doa. It really just depends on how much you can spend- and what you're most comfortable with.

My thoughts exactly -- do they live in Canada, or what?

As mentioned, the only real difference is that Express is guaranteed to arrive within 2 days or you get your money back. As long as the weather is fine in your area, I'd just go with Priority, personally; usually it only takes 3-4 days.

I'll use Priority, then.
But it's going to be high 70-ish in my area. :grr: What's a good tempature to ship?

i only ship prioriy, but then again i only use pegasus and jenifer v. t ship my bettas in. im in tampa and pegusus is in miami, and jennifer is in SC or somthing lik that. never had any problems with heat and it gets hot here sometimes.

High 70s are great temps for shipping, so long as it doesn't drop too close to 70.
