Hi i run a 12 gallon fish only tank and was wondering if this would be of any benifit, could i just add it at random periods in the week to get rid of any ammonia etc bulid up or no?

u shouldnt have any amonia in the tank

if you have ammonia, you shouldnt have fish in the tank anyways

Oops nitrate from the water in the tank and other things because i use tap water.

ohh, then it would work for making the tap water safe, wont do anything to nitrate

...but seachem prime doesn't remove nitrate .

So no .

But it's good for removing chlorine and the like from tap water...if you must use tap water.
